            Medical Assistant
Duties and responsibilities: A medical assistant takes and records a patient’s history and personal information. They measure vital signs, they help the physician with patient examinations, give patients injections as directed by the physician, schedule patient appointments, prepare blood for laboratory tests, and many more other things that require assisting a doctor or a person of a higher medical level.


Salary: $21,080-$41,570



Education:  To become a medical assistant you are supposed to take courses in biology, chemistry, and anatomy. Most medical assistants graduate from postsecondary medical programs. Some medical assistants have their high school diploma. There are no formal educational requirements in some states to become a medical assistant you may have to take certain classes or take a test.

I think that I would want to be a medical assistant to start with so that  can see how being in the medical field is and to experience the many things that I would be seeing and experiencing if I go forward in the medical field. I think that the salary is not that bad and It would be good to work as a medical assistant temporarily.

   Licensed Practical Nurse

Duties and responsibilities:  licensed practical nurses provide basic nurture care. These nurses monitor patients like they take their blood pressure. They administer patient care which means that they remove bandages and insert catheters. They help patients bathe and dress and they listen to their concerns. They also keep records of patient’s health and much more.

Salary: $41,540-$57,360



Education: To become one you first have to finish an approved educational program. These programs give you a certificate in about 1 year. These programs combine subjects like nursing, biology, and pharmacology.

I think that I wouldn’t want to have this career forever but I think that I would want a job like this to start with. Later on I would want to do something that would pay more and would be more advanced than just a nurse that takes care of people. They do have a pretty fair salary so I think that I would want to do this for a while.

          Home Health Aide

Duties and responsibilities: A home health aide has many responsibilities some responsibilities that it has are they have to assist others with personal tasks like helping to keep homes safe and clean. They allow the people who need a higher level of care the opportunity to live on their own. In some states they allow them to check vital signs and administer medication.


Salary: $21,020 or $10.10/ hour


Education: You do not need a license to become a home health aide you might need certification. I order to be certified you are supposed to pass an exam after 75 hours of training and skills. If you don’t have a high school diploma you will not have fewer opportunities for advancement.

In my opinion I don’t think that I would want to be a home health aide. The reason why I wouldn’t want to be a home health aid is because they don’t have a good salary. Also to become a home health aid you really don’t have any education which makes me think that anyone can be one and it wouldn’t really be a good career.

Health sciences librarian

  Health Sciences Librarian
Duties and responsibilities: Some duties and responsibilities that health librarians have are they provide medical information through books, pamphlets, journals, tapes, multimedia presentations and the internet. Health librarians help anyone with all the information they need like parents, students, and health providers.

Salary: $58,000

Education: To become a health science librarian you must graduate from high school first. Then a four year bachelor degree is needed. It must include science and computer science. A master’s degree in library science is also mandatory to become a health science librarian. Health science librarians are not required to be certified. You may have to pass through certification examinations.

 In my opinion I think that I would not like to be a health sciences librarian. I think that I would get really bored of my job really fast. I would like to be something more important that just someone who gives out information. They do get paid well annually but I really think that it is something that I would want to work in.

        Oncologist
Duties and responsibilities: They collect medical histories and perform physical evaluations. They maintain records, they coordinate with other medical personnel, and they manage the work of the staff. They provide a variety of diagnostic procedures to see the condition of tissues and detect cancer.

Education: To become an oncologist you are supposed to complete eight years of undergraduate and medical school education. You then have to train in a medical residency for 3-5 years depending on the specialty. You may also have to complete a residency of fellowship that up to 3 years.

In my opinion I think that I would want to become an oncologist. The reason why I would want to become an oncologist is because they have a very good salary. Even if it is a large amount of years in school I think that I would want to work as an oncologist.

Duties and responsibilities: Veterinarians have many duties and responsibilities. Some duties and responsibilities are that they administer vaccines, do health checkups, clean teeth, fix broken bones, treat skin infections and perform surgeries. There may involve inspecting the living spaces of animals like farms or ranches like this they will see if they have caught an infection because of their living space. The veterinarians also have to give lethal injections when they are very old or terminally ill. They also have to be comfortably with people.


Salary: $86,000-$149,000

Education: It usually takes about four years to earn a doctor of veterinary medicine. It may be possible to get accepted to a college of veterinary medicine without earning a bachelor’s degree at first. Most students first finish their undergraduate degree before enrolling.

 In my opinion I would want to be a veterinarian. I really like animals and helping the animals in need. The tough part about becoming a veterinarian is watching the animals suffer or putting them to sleep. I think that a veterinarian would be something that I would want to have as a career. They also have a good annual payment.

Electrocardiograph Technician
Duties and responsibilities: Some things that the electrocardiograph technician uses special equipment and medical techniques to record the electrical impulses transmitted by a patient’s heart. Egg technicians may perform stress tests.

Education: To become an electrocardiograph technician you may go to a community college or a vocational school. The topics that have to be covered are electrocardiography, medical terminology, the role of a E.K.G. technician, electrocardiography, anatomy of the heart, medical disease processes, and many more.

Reflection: I think that I would want to be an electrocardiograph technician. The reason why I would want to be an electrocardiograph technician because in the first part the salary is very good. I would also want to become one because it is involved in the medical field and you don’t need to have a large amount of education. I think that it wouldn’t be bad if I would be one.

registered dietitian

         Registered Dietitian 


Duties and responsibilities: dietitians study many subjects like food and nutrition sciences, food service system management, business, economics, computer science, culinary works and many more. Some of their duties are to assess clients health needs and diet. They also have to counsel patients on their nutrition and there healthy eating habits. They develop meal plans and evaluate the effect of the meal plans and if needed they may change the plans to something that would work better with the patient. They also keep up with the latest nutritional service research. They do many more things.

Salary: $32,000-$72,710

Education: To become a registered dietitian you are supposed to have at least a bachelor’s degree at a U.S. regionally accredited university or college. There also has to be course work that has to be approved by the Accreditation council for education in nutrition and dietetics. You also have to attend an accredited supervised practice program at a health care facility or a community agency.

In my opinion I think that a registered dietitian would be a really good career. You have to know many things and go to college for some years but it would be worth it because they pay really good. It would also help you in your life because this way you would be able to see the things that are good to eat and you would take care more of yourself. You would also discover more tricks to being healthy.

Duties and responsibilities: A diagnostic radiologist combines the imaging results of a patient’s organs, bones, and tissues with other tests conclusions to reach a diagnosis and advice the patients regarding treatments or additional testing. They also administer radiation in oncology, nuclear radiology, pediatric radiology, and interventional radiology.

Education: To become a diagnostic radiologist it is required for you to have a 4-year bachelor’s degree program. You must also complete four years of medical school followed by several years of residency training in radiology.

In my opinion I think that I wouldn’t want to be a radiologist. The reason why I wouldn’t want to be a radiologist is because I think that I would get bored of it really fast. Duties and responsibilities: A dermatologist treats diseases like problems with a person’s hair, skin, nails, and scalp. A dermatologist refers patients to other specialists if they need it. They also record the patient’s history. They provide dermatologic consultation to other health professionals. They are able to provide liposuction treatment to their patients. They also recommend diagnostic tests according to the patient’s history. They do surgeries on their skin if they need it.

Salary: $112,000-$166,400

Education: For a dermatologist to qualify for professional practice they are supposed to be certified by the A.T.B. They have to be graduated from and accredited medical school or an osteopathic school. They also have to attend four years of postgraduate training.

In my opinion I think that I would want to be a dermatologist. The reason why I would want to be a dermatologist is because I have always dreamed to become something in the medical field. A dermatologist earns a lot of money and I would want to work somewhere where I would earn a lot of money. I know that it takes a good amount of time in college but at the end I think that it would be worth it.

            Dental Assistant  

Duties and responsibilities: A dental assistant is required to do many tasks like interpersonal and technical skills. They have to assist the dentist during treatment procedures .They may also have to develop dental radiographs A.K.A. ( X -Rays ). They have to attend the patient by asking them their medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse. They are the ones who have to prepare and/or sterilize instruments and equipment.

Salary: $23,000-$35,000

Education: To be a dental assistant you don’t need special education. Some dental assistants only have a high school diploma. To become a dental assistant you are required to take a dental assisting program. Some programs are only 1-year long to get your certificate.  You may also take a 2-yeas associates degree program as well. This program combines general education, technical training, and more extensive clinical practicums.

In my point of view I don’t think that I would want to be a dental assistant. The reason why I wouldn't want to be one is because a dental assistant is not a really big deal. Dental assistants are just like helpers and aren't really important. I would want to be something more important like the actual dentist or a doctor.

                   Dental lab Technician

Duties and responsibilities: They take orders from dentists and design and construct dental replacements. Some things that they may construct are bridges, dentures, crowns, and orthopedic appliances. They have to be able to use wax, metals, and casts to duplicate the teeth. Usually they make models of the patient’s mouth so that they can understand how the jaw and teeth fit together.


Salary: $40,000-$70,000

Education: To be a dental lab technician you have to at least have a high school diploma. It would work more if in high school you would focus on math, science, information technology, wood shop, and art.

I think that I would want to be a Dental lab technician. The reason why I think this is because I think that to become one you don’t need a lot of education. This career pays well and it is in the medical field which is something that I want to do. Also there was a time when I wanted to become a dentist or a dentist assistant so I think that I would be interested in a career like this.

                   Craniosacral Therapist


Duties and responsibilities:  The duties and 
responsibilities of a craniosacral therapist is that they have to know how to do is listen a lot. They have to make a client questions about their health and what they need help on. They have to be able to touch the person and see what areas in their body are tight, twisted or out of alignment. They use holds to help re balance the unbalanced areas.



Salary: $45,000-$75,000


Education: Most states require a craniosacral therapist to have a license to touch. Most of them have a background in massage therapy. There are some programs that you can take that last 2-3 years. To complete certification you are supposed to have a 6-10 training to be completed as well as a number of treatment sessions.

 I think that I wouldn't like to be one. The reason why I wouldn't like to be one is because to become a craniosacral therapist you are supposed to be very patient and calm and I don’t think that I would want to do that. I think that I would want to quit my job really fast or I wouldn't stand being in a quite room.

                  Chiropractor

Duties and responsibilities: Chiropractors are health care providers who work with patients dealing with bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Chiropractors help patients if needed they may do x-rays. Sometimes they collaborate on ongoing rehabilitation care with physical therapists and doctors.

Salary: $134,941- $232,510

Education: They have to have for years of premedical college education, including courses in biology, inorganic and organic chemistry, physics, and psychology also related to lab work. They have to complete a minimum of one year clinically based program dealing with health care. In total the curriculum includes a total of 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical experience.

I think that I would like to be one. The reason why I would like to be one is because even though this takes a lot of time in college and a lot of education it is worth it. They have a great salary and also this can help me and my family in life. If I know how to do these types of things my family wouldn't need to go to any other chiropractor but me.

Duties and responsibilities: Some duties and responsibilities that they have are they have to oversee everyone who comes before them to ensure that their duties are carried out with all of their potential. They have to plan any menu items and set the recipes in most cases. They have to place food orders. He has to solve any issues that are caused in the kitchen. Finally chefs would also prepare some meals sometimes.

Salary: $31,000-$54,000

Education: To become a chef you have to attend culinary school at the beginning of your career to get a degree. You have to be trained by chefs that know the requirements of a working kitchen. You have to know how to do culinary techniques like knife skills, sauce and stock preparation, and how to know when something is cooked right.

 I think that if I don’t become a doctor or join the medical field I would want to become a chef. When I was small I had always liked to cook and do things in the kitchen. I think that becoming a chef would be a great career.

Duties and responsibilities: To become a boxer you need many duties and responsibilities. They have to be a good listener and be very patient. They have be in a really good shape.

Education: To become a boxer you don’t really have to have a lot of education. What you do need is a lot of training and practicing. A boxer needs to be in really good shape. To be a boxer you have to at least graduate from high school.

I think that I would want to be a boxer. A boxer makes a lot of money. They don’t have to have a lot of education. A t the same time I wouldn't want to be a boxer. Boxers need a lot of training and not anyone can become a great boxer. In the future I would want to be in the medical field instead.
                       Trauma Nurse

Duties and responsibilities: A trauma nurse is supposed to understand triage. Triage is a method of prioritizing injuries based on medical needs. They have to be able to make quick and accurate assessments about incoming patients including physical and mental conditions.

Education: They have to have specialized training and education. They must have an associate degree in nursing, a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing, or a diploma from a hospital with a nursing program.

I think that I would like to be a Trauma nurse. The reason why I would like to be one is because as I have mentioned in other reflections I want to be work as something in the medical field. A trauma nurse wins an accurate amount of money annually and it would be a great career to have.

Duties and responsibilities: Cardiologists specialize in diagnosing and treating diseases or conditions of the heart and blood vessels. Cardiologists also help you learn about the risk factors for heart disease. They help you find out what measures you can take for better health.

They design machines used for surgery. They research and develop prostheses, evaluate the use of artificial organs, and improve instrumentation used in hospitals and in clinics.

Education: The first step for engineers is  a bachelor’s degree. It is required as an entry level requirement. But most of them have a masters degree.

I think that I would like to be one. I think that this job would be a little difficult but they earn a lot of money annually. I think that think career would be a great career to do
