Health educator

Duties and responsibilities: Some things that health educators do are they teach people about behaviors that promote wellness. They develop and implement strategies to improve the health of individuals and communities.  They also collect data and discuss health concerns with members of specific populations or communities.

Salary: $34,620- $48,790

Education: To become a health educator you need a bachelor’s degree.  You also need the health specialist credential. They typically need a high school diploma and complete a brief period of on-the-job training.

Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?

In my opinion I think that I wouldn’t want to be a health specialist. The reason why I wouldn’t want to be a health specialist is because I don’t think that I would like to do research and paperwork or those kinds of things. I would want to do something more exciting like a doctor or a pediatrician even if it would involve more years of studying. I would want a job with a higher salary as well.
