“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”
                          Thomas Carlyle

Reflection: I agree with this statement by Thomas Carlyle. A rudder is what helps control the ship without a rudder the ship would go wherever it wants and you would never get to the place that you want to get. In life it is good to have a goal because with a goal in mind you will dedicate all your life to achieving something that you really want. For example if your goal is to graduate from college and get  s career you will dedicate all your time to achieving something that you want and would change your life completely. In the other hand if you have no idea what you want to do in life you might end up being a fraud and waste your whole life in something you don’t want to do.

              Beautiful Character
If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation, there will be peace in the world. Conclusion: If there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the world.
                      Chinese proverb
Reflection: I agree with this proverb. If there is beauty in character there will be harmony in home. I agree with this because if a person has a nice heart and there is no violence or hate in the people everything would turn out to be beautiful and peaceful. In the other hand in the other hand if there is hate between people and they decide to kill others or harm others in different ways then there would be no peace at all and everything would end up horrible.

Student success statement
“ I would prefer to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
                                  Sophocles

Reflection: I agree with this statement it is better to fail with honor than to win by cheating. If you didn’t study on a test and you copy your partner and get a good score you didn’t actually win. It is bad to take advantage of someone else when they did all the work and you did nothing. I don’t think that anyone should do that and if you do the consequences show up at the end.

“Nothing is ever gained in doing what’s wrong.”

                          Wilford Woodruff
Reflection: I agree with what Wilford woodruff is saying in this quote. The reason why I agree is because you will never gain anything if you choose the wrong. On the other and if you choose the right you may gain many things. For example, if you choose the right you will gain self-esteem, respect form yourself and respect from others people will look at you in a good way. On the other hand if you choose the wrong people will look at you in a bad way and you will lose self-esteem and many people will stay away from you or consequences always come later.

When the iPad was given to its owner he got a compensation of $60 from the owner but Patrick’s kindness wasn’t done yet he decided to give some of that money to a homeless lady and the rest of the money to a co-worker.  For this Patrick is the nicest man in the world he was rewarded by his boss with $600 dollar check.

Video reflection: Eric Smallridge is a guy who one day decided to drink and drive. He was driving past the speed limit when he crashed into a car where two girls by the names of Megan and Lisa who were 20 years old. Eric was sentenced to 22 years in prison for this and he thought he did deserve it. Megan’s mom Renee was really mad at Eric for what he had done but thought that being mad at a person wasn’t going to help her so she decided to forgive Eric. Renee talked to the judge and told him that she wants him to cut Eric’s jail time in half and he did. Eric knew that what he had done caused many problems and he deserved to be in jail. Since then Eric and Renee talk in schools to teach kids about drunk driving.

“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.”
                             Alan Paton
Forgive: to stop feeling angry or resentful toward someone for an offense, flaw, or mistake.

Reflection: I agree with Alan’s statement. The reason why I agree is because I know that when someone does something to me I don’t stop thinking about it or I will be mad with that person for a really long time. The only way that I stop thinking about what they did to me or i stop being mad at them is when I forgive them. In the instant that I forgive someone I know that whatever they did to me is in the past and I won’t be mad anymore.

     Student Success Statement
       “Dare to stand alone.”
            Thomas S. Monson

Reflection: I think that Thomas s. monsoon is trying to make a point in this dare. When you see that a group of people are doing something bad like your friends it is better to get away from them as soon as possible. It is better to be alone and have no friends than to be in serious danger than can bring harsh consequences in the future. The people who will try to make you do something that you are not supposed to or something that will hurt you are not the people you should be hanging out with. It is way better to take your own path in life and be someone who is better than they will ever be.
